Who is the course for?
The SRO course is designed for rescue workers, rafting guides,
outdoor education leaders, adventure guides, school teachers and
paddlers.
Training and Assessment
The SRO course is delivered over 4 days. Training and assessment will comprise of both theoretical and practical components. Training will be conducted over 3 days, plus an additional day for the final assessment either directly after the training phase or at a later date.
Are there any course pre-requisites?
The SRO Course is an intensive 4 day program which is both physically and mentally demanding. As a result, students will require an appropriate level of fitness and commitment to effectively participate in the program.
Swiftwater Rescue Operator Course students must
be 18 years of age.
What certification is issued?
Upon successful completion of the SRO course and assessment, along
with Unit of Competency requirements, Rescue Training Group P/L
(RTO) will issue students with a Nationally recognised Statement
of Attainment.
The International certificate of the course is available to those who wish.
What are the course fees?
Swiftwater Flood Rescue Operator (SRO) Course fees are $465. This includes training, supply and use of technical equipment, SRO Course Manual, Statement of Attainment and professional instruction.
Swiftwater Rescue Operator Assessment (SRO-A) fees are $155. Thus to complete training and assessment will cost $620.00. Nationally Accredited courses are GST Exempt.
