Who is the course for?
The SFRT course is designed for advanced rescue operators, rescue
instructors and outdoor leaders and guides operating whitewater
activities in remote locations.
Training and Assessment
The SFRT course is delivered over 5 days. Training and assessment
will comprise of both theoretical and practical components. Training
will be conducted over 3 days, plus an two additional days for the
final assessment .
Are there any course pre-requisites?
The SFRT Course is an intensive 3 day training program which is
both physically and mentally demanding. As a result, students will
require an appropriate level of fitness and commitment to effectively
participate in the program, as well as have completed Swiftwater
Operator level or equivalent.
Swiftwater Flood Rescue Technician Course students
must be 18 years of age
What certification is issued?
Upon successful completion of the SFRT course assessment, along
with Unit of Competency requirements, Rescue Training Group P/L
(RTO) will issue students with a Nationally recognised Statement
of Attainment.
What are the course fees?
Swiftwater Flood Rescue Technician (SFRT) Course fees are $450.
This includes training, supply and use of technical equipment, SFRT
Course Manual, and professional instruction.
Swiftwater Flood Rescue Technician Assessment (SFRT-A) fees are
$270, including Statement of Attainment.
