Who is the course for?
The TRRO course is designed for anyone involved in the disciplines
of climbing, abseiling, caving, mountaineering and/or professionals
such as Instructors, Adventure Leaders, Outdoor Education Teachers
and Emergency Services personnel.
Training and Assessment
The TRRO course is delivered over 4 days. Training and assessment
will comprise of both theoretical and practical components. Training
will be conducted over 3 days, plus an additional day for the final
assessment (at a later date).
Are there any course pre-requisites?
The TRRO Course is an intensive 3 day training program which is
both physically and mentally demanding. As a result, students will
require an appropriate level of fitness and commitment to effectively
participate in the program. Students also must be competent in abseiling
and ascending a fixed rope.
Technical Rope Rescue Operator Course students
must be 18 years of age
What certification is issued?
Upon successful completion of the TRRO course and TRRO Assessment,
along with Unit of Competency requirements, Rescue Training Group
P/L (RTO) will issue students with a nationally recognised Statement
of Attainment.
What are the course fees?
Technical Rope Rescue Operator (TRRO) Course fees are $465. This includes training, supply and use of technical equipment, TRRO Course Manual, and professional instruction.
Technical Rope Rescue Operator Assessment (TRRO-A) fees are $155, including Statement of Attainment.
Thus to complete training and assessment will cost $620.00. Nationally Accredited courses are GST Exempt.
